Day Four.

January 5th. Today we spent most of the day in the classroom (from 9 AM until 515 PM), even ordering in food for our lunch instead of going out for it. The redeeming part was that we watched District 9, and this time, being educated on District 6, I realized how District 9 is basically about District 6. According to my information already in this blog on district six, if you read it, you can definitely tell that.
Anyway, there isn't much to be said for today though it is the first time I started to miss everyone: talked to mom and dad for a while on the phone, saw a picture of my baby boy Ned on facebook and am talking to Ian on skype.
We went into downtown Cape Town tonight after class was over and went into a restaurant that was recommended by the local professor teaching us history the last couple of days, and it was really great actually. Long Street is where all the young people and tourists hang out apparently and it had a really nice atmosphere, the food was really nice, and I tried African beer that tasted super wheaty (made in Namibia):
On the way walking to upper campus to get the shuttle downtown, we saw university boys playing rugby:
Also, random, but interesting: 'tisers' are more commonplace soft drinks than coke, sprite, fanta, etc. They are like fruit juice that has carbonation and they come in like apple and grape flavors, or flavours because I'm in SA :p:

Also, these really cute sandals I bought specifically for this trip gave me four blisters tonight, what a pain in the ass...
Anyway, that's all for now! Goodnight!
